Meet the Staff of BHA


A. Lee Solomon, M.D.
PSYCHIATRIST

Lee Solomon attended The University of Tennessee and graduated from the UT School of Medicine in Memphis. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He is Board Certified in both Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry. His special areas of interest are panic and anxiety disorders. He treats adolescents through adults. He and his wife own and manage the practice.

Dr. Jon Cohen, M.D. Jon S. Cohen, M.D.
PSYCHIATRIST

Jon Cohen is a graduate of Dartmouth College and attended medical school at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT College of Medicine in Chattanooga. His areas of clinical expertise include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, as well as patients with concurrent medical illnesses. His practice is for adults 18 years and older.



Tim Larson, M.D.
PSYCHIATRIST

Tim Larson is a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University and attended medical school at The Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his residency in Psychiatry in 1992 at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He treats adolescents through adults.

Jeff Guajardo, APN, BC Jeff Guajardo, APN, BC
CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST

Jeff Guajardo is an Advanced Practice Nurse specializing in Psychiatry/Mental Health. He received his Masters Degree from Georgia State University. He is currently a Psychiatric clinical instructor at Southern Adventist University. He is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and treats adults of all ages.



Nicky Ozbek, Ph.D.
PSYCHOLOGIST

Nicky Ozbek is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in pediatric and rehabilitation psychology. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Psychology at John Hopkins University Medical School. She is a professor of Psychology at UTC. She evaluates and treats children, adolescent, and adults.

Jim Brown, Ph.D. Jim Brown, Ph.D.
PSYCHOLOGIST

Jim Brown is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who graduated from University of Auburn in 1974. He completed his doctorate at the University of Alabama in 1979. He is currently serving as Chairperson of the Tennessee Psychological Association's Ethics Committee. He has special interests in the treatment of panic and anxiety disorders and posttraumatic stress disorders. Dr. Brown works with adolescents and adults.

Peggy Anne Solomon, R.N.
OFFICE MANAGER & NURSE

Peggy Solomon attended Fort Sanders School of Nursing, graduating in 1974. She completed her training in biofeedback and is certified by the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. She specializes in the treatment of panic and anxiety disorders, stress-related illnesses, and specific phobias. She works with adolescents and adults.

Kim D. Stricker, L.C.S.W. Kim D. Stricker, L.C.S.W.
SOCIAL WORKER

Kim Stricker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy for individuals, couples and families. She received her master's degree from the University of Georgia. She has been in private practice since 1994, and has previous experience in inpatient psychiatric program management. Mrs. Stricker has a special focus, further experience, and training in the treatment of eating disorders. Her other areas of focus include anxiety and mood disorders, cognitive-behavioral therapy and grief work.



Kathleen R. Scott, L.C.S.W.
SOCIAL WORKER

Kathy Scott is a Clinical Therapist who practices in the field of adolescent, adult, and family psychotherapy. She obtained her master's degree from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She has provided consultation and training seminars to residential, day treatment, and private psychiatric facilities. Special areas of interest include women's issues, grief work, stress management, and personal growth.

Cathy L. Parker, L.C.S.W. Cathy L. Parker, L.C.S.W.
SOCIAL WORKER

Cathy Parker, L.C.S.W., D.C.S.W., is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides individual, couples, group, and family therapy. Originally from Chattanooga, Ms. Parker received her master's degree in Social Work from Florida State University in 1988. She is a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work which indicates she has satisfied the requirements for advanced Clinical Social Work through the National Association of Social Workers. Ms. Parker is trained in bi-lateral brain stimulation, which is documented as an efficient therapy for process trauma and other troubling memories, thoughts, and feelings. She also specializes in mood disorders, women's issues, and grief.



Heather Monson-James, L.C.S.W.
SOCIAL WORKER

Heather Monson-James is a Clinical therapist who specializes in child, adolescent, adult, and family psychotherapy. She obtained her master's degree from California State University at Sacramento and has experience in acute psychiatric inpatient and outpatient mental health, as well as clinical management of residential and psychiatric programs. Special areas of interest include anxiety disorders, bereavement, cognitive restructuring, and children's disorders.
